Born in 1968 in Trabzon, he completed primary and secondary school in Trabzon. After graduating from Istanbul Maltepe High School, he started 19 Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine in 1985. In 1991, he graduated from 19 Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine.
In 1992, he started his specialization in General Surgery at K. T. U. Faculty of Medicine Farabi Hospital. In 1998, he completed his specialization. In 2002, he received Laparoscopic Surgery training at Istanbul University Çapa Medical Faculty General Surgery Clinic. In 2006, he received Laparoscopic Antireflux Surgery training at the same university. In 2010, he received advanced Laparoscopic Surgery and Obesity Surgery training at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty General Surgery Clinic.
He started Laparoscopic Metabolic Surgery in 2014 with the support of Prof. Dr. Sergio Santoro from Sao Paulo-Brazil University. He was accepted as a member of the Metabolic Surgery Association due to his national and international studies. He was included in the Metabolic Surgery International Working Group. In 2014, he received Advanced Laparoscopic Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery training at IRCAD University Strasbourg-France.
In 2017, he joined the Excellent Surgeon program system organized by IFSO-EAC-BS (European Accreditation Council for Bariatric Surgery). All his patients were registered in this program. In 2021, he was accredited by IFSO as a Surgeon of Excellence in Obesity and Metabolic (type 2 diabetes) Surgery. He started his academic studies at Near East University in 2018. He has performed over 4000 laparoscopic obesity and metabolic surgeries in Turkey and many other countries around the world. All obesity and Type 2 diabetes surgery patients are still registered in the European Bariatric Surgery Accreditation System. He participated in congresses both in Turkey and in many countries around the world, gave speeches and presented posters. He contributed to the literature by publishing his studies.
